About We Know Wounds
A public, free-to-read clinical community for wound care — and a Council that will put its name, its votes and its conflicts of interest on the record.
The problem we are trying to fix
Wound care runs on guidance that is hard to find, hard to date, and frequently written by whoever is selling the product. Coverage rules change without notice. A clinician who wants to know what is currently supported — by the evidence and by the payer — has to assemble that answer themselves, every time.
We Know Wounds exists to publish that answer in one place, with the working shown: who wrote it, when, on what evidence, who voted for it, and who recused themselves.
How the Council is meant to work
The We Know Wounds Clinical Council is a panel of wound-care specialists, currently being established. Once seated it will author standards, review evidence, and ratify what gets published here. Three rules are built into how it operates:
- Disclosure will be a condition of membership. Each member files an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure, and those disclosures are published.
- Recusals will be published with the vote. Where a member has an interest in what is being decided, the record is to show that they stepped out — not merely that the vote passed.
- Standards will carry versions. When a standard changes, the previous version stays readable. Guidance that quietly rewrites itself cannot be relied on.

Editorial independence
The Council is meant to operate independently of any product distributor: it publishes standards, screens evidence and educates. It does not sell products, and it does not recommend a specific manufacturer’s product over another.
Independence is not a slogan, so here is how it is supposed to be checkable rather than taken on trust: members’ financial relationships are disclosed and published, a member with an interest in a decision is recorded as having recused themselves, and every standard keeps its earlier versions. If those records are not there, the claim is not there either — hold us to that.
You should also know who builds this site: We Know Wounds is built and run by the team behind Patientflows, which makes clinical software for wound care. That is stated here rather than buried, because a reader is entitled to know who is behind guidance before deciding how much weight to give it.
What this site does not do
- It holds no patient information. Nothing on this site touches a patient record, and this site has no connection to any clinical system. It is a publishing surface and nothing else.
- It collects nothing about you. No account, no form, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies. The details, in full →
- It does not give medical, legal or billing advice. Everything published here is educational. Coverage explainers describe what a policy says; they cannot tell you what a specific payer will do with a specific claim.
Nothing is published yet — and that is on purpose
We would rather show an empty page than fill it with material nobody reviewed. Tell us where to reach you and we will let you know when the Council seats and the first standard goes up.
